Inventions might me exacturating it a bit…

  • http://www.crabgrasscomic.com Coffeepillow

Why does the Japanese girl with the umbrella bag look so sad in the second picture?

  • http://breadmilkbeercigarettes.com bittramp

    1. Nice, but does parallel usb even work?
    2. Cool but a one trick pony
    3. A lock for drunks? Ok
    4. Bacterial growth trap. If you drag your feet and are lazy enough to use these then you’ll never clean your shoes anyway.
    5. Excellent. Chiropractors will love their new customers.
    6. Who drinks beer from a coffee mug?
    7. Sweet!
    8. Come back to Earth.
    9. This may change the course of evolution.
    10. Helping messy people get their odors out to every one. Are those panties stained?
    11. Do those hanger heads bend to hook on cup good? If so…then…maybe
    12. Repeat.
    13. Great for using…as two surfaces. You have to scrape everything off and slide them around to show people how cool it is that they fit together. Because you never naturally fit them together. Because you have too much crap and need two surfaces.
    14. Should children this small have free access outside your house? If they cannot open the big door, maybe someone wont abduct them. See?
    15. It’s not a lazy susan. It’s a lazy …. *cant think*. It’s just lazy! Good for grandma and the disabled tho.
    16. What’s wrong with duct tape you split level hippies??
    17. Nice. Where’s the one for fapping too much? Sadly, if you are at the stage of having a cast and still needing a sling, you are just beginning your healing journey and not out and about as much as when you are finished with the sling. And the cast. And the questions.
    18. Don’t think this is going to reinforce ANYTHING positive.
    19. Considering most small women with small collapsible umbrellas stow them in their small purses, there would be the possibility of creating a space-time continuum breach.
    20. Didn’t see the back. I’m guessing that’s the wheel-barrow-library. Pure sci-fi. Slap a Harley Davidson emblem on there and maybe get some sales.
    21. Cheaters never win and winners never eat.
    22. Nice. It looks like, when the hobo craps on the bench, you can get a new surface. Yet still bathe in that stench. Or something. Vandals will start putting Star Wars opening text on it.
    23. Nothing says white trash like an ashtray funnel. Where’s the spittoon?
    24. Cool.
    25. oh come on
    26. Cool, but only the hired help would be using
    27. Excellent! Who doesn’t like creaky steps? If they are built right ($$$), then good idea.
    28. You obviously don’t know how much food I eat at my computer. I need a full T.V. tray!
    29. Very precarious. Do they come with counter balancing? Insurance?
    30. Wow. How to turn 1 pound of paper trash into 2 pounds of unrecyclable crap!

  • http://breadmilkbeercigarettes.com bittramp

Damn, screwed that up. Insert between 16 and 17 on my previous list.

16.1) No bigger holes for pepper? Who doesn’t get condiment 101? And well I feel such a warm fuzzy knowing those are nickel-metal hydride batteries.
16.2) Like guys aren’t constantly measuring their penii anyway? Sheesh. I mean, they do, right? All the time? That’s normal behavior.
16.3) Child’s lamp unfinished painting. The shape says “Child’s lamp”, the painting says “I can sell this to minimalistic mofos”. Put together, it’s an unfinished child’s lamp. FINISH IT!
16.4) Great if you want a continuous light source at your electrical outlets. You will have to continuously direct your guest’s attention to the light in the hall under the table near the corner to see the crazy “I want to be unplugged” neo-retro-alt-uber-dope design.

How did I miss those four? Oh, well.

  • Michael

Not much to smile about, between the earthquakes and the tentacle rape

  • http://fxn.ws/gS0Bcb Anna Z (aivzdog)

These are all awesome inventions but probably my favorite one is the oreo invention to take out the inside of the oreo. Love it!

  • cool

I guess it’s easy to tell just how much time you spend in front of your computer ha can’t you have anything positive to say about anything that has to do with anything? Why so negative? “Be cheerful. Strive to be happy!”

  • youfailed

    learn how to spell.

  • youfailed

I agree with Dr.Cool. And i add that you are a pretentious shithead, presumably obese single and unhappy with your own lack of creativity… hence the negativity. While you do make some points one can only wonder how often you must offer your ill-mannered opinion when it wasn’t requested.

  • jarhead

Stop acting like you are some new age protege designer. Half of these designs are great, stop being an asshole and trying to rip them apart when on most of them there is literally nothing to rip apart so you make some “clever” (douche bag) comment about it anyway. Nobody thinks its cool, nobody thinks you’re clever, nobody cares about your pessimistic opinion.

  • Ave

Personally I thought bittramps review was more entertaining than the actual pictures, and the last comment had me laughing out loud

  • http://www.thefactsite.com/ ColdRicePudding

These are truely fantastic! The most useful being the ash tray over the bottle!
    Thanks for sharing.

  • Randy

Try coming up with you’re own language first before telling someone what to do with something that belongs to no one.

  • Jon

This is probably the worst thing I’ve read all month.

  • Elizabeth T

awww. come on. he said 24 and 26 were cool. and i think 11 might have been an attempt at a nicety. and he may not be obese. possibly just overweight. or unfortunate looking. aside from that i agree completely though.

  • Elizabeth T

your bitterness must have somehow masked them when you first went through. i’m glad you made absolute certain that the world didn’t miss any ingenious and clever insight from you though. whew. i’ll certainly sleep easier tonight. the internet community thanks you i’m sure.

  • Nickle
  • Andy Kaye

The chopsticks one exists already. Has for awhile. Go to a Japanese restaurant and ask for the “kid friendly” chopsticks.

  • mateo

I don’t get what the one with the onion is supposed to be… A fingerguard for people too stupid to learn knife safety techniques?

  • B Swag

Hey BitTramp id like to see you make an invention that as awesome as these…once you do let me know but in the mean time quite criticizing them i think you just have nothing better to do cause no one wants to hang out with a negative duesch like you.

  • justoli

THE BABY HANGER SEEMED COOL till i realised that someone else might go into the cubicle next door and go what is this and unhang them while your washing your hands.

and the rolling bench one is good except someone will turn it round and sit on it and leave. then it will rain again and when you get there the whole thing is bound to be wet on both sides.

  • ThatOneDude

    Agreed with Jon.

  • ThatOneDude

Some of them are pretty cool and I wouldnt mind getting them. Most of them are just kind of interesting. But I guess being interesting is good enough.

  • http://www.jen.com jennyvie recarro

    ..its so interesting for me..

  • http://www.luvabargain.com Sherri @ Luv a Bargain

Those are SO great! I love the pizza cutter :)

  • http://www.crabgrasscomic.com Coffeepillow

    Not cool man, not cool…

  • anooooon

Yeah tentacle rape is a serious issue

  • Yo

I don’t think that’s meant for taking out the inside of the oreo – I think it’s meant for dunking it in milk. Either way, it’s kind of cool!

  • http://schoolsoftwares.co.in mayank

everything amazing but i like most onion cutter send more ideas i lki to know more about you.

I find that usb on a usb cable quite amazing. It would save tons of usb slot space for me.

  • Helen

Wow, whats with everyone being so negative about this stuff?
i think its pretty damn awesome that people have come up with this XD
    I bet you lot couldnt…

There is your error right there. Can you see it? No. I assumed so…
This stuff is labeled “cleverly designed inventions” but in reality it’s designs and design studies with somtimes questionable inovational quality and in most cases not thought to the end.
bittramp, you spelled out my thoughts almost to the letter.
This is realy mostly stuff designers think up which has hardly any usability in real life and therefore has so many obvious flaws.
To show, that I not only criticize but think it a step further: the tea pot stand can be significantly improved with a kandle holder below it to keep the tea warm.

  • http://Bla! PIP

I like the inventions, some… okay well probably most have there flaws but its true they’re like those passing idea’s you have sometimes but actually created, which is a funny nice idea. i liked the comments too, i got as much of a giggle out of reading them as i did looking at the pictures, maybe even a bit more. I think everyone should relax, maybe he couldn’t invent them, and so what if he’s ripping the designs apart, its just a few comments, its not a big deal, so why not throw some funny thoughts about why they wouldn’t work, if all he said was great, cool, fantastic, love it, it’d be boring! go to town pal! and for the record I’d imagine that, yes, every man at some stage in his life at least once will measure to see what exactly he’s packing, but its human to be curious.

  • william toz

why do you think its a japanese girl? its really a chinese girl

does it really matter? what if she’s a korean-half-vietnamese-half-german (fine, 1/3) person? tsk. tentacle rape isn’t so cool at all, even the earthquake.

  • http://techpaperwriter.com Bill

Which brings you to the same state as if it was a regular bench to start with: therefore, no loss.

  • http://techpaperwriter.com Bill

And I think the idea of the baby hanger is that you take the kid with you when you exit the stall.
OTOH, when I enter a stall, my mind is not focused on a couple of clips over the wall … I’ve always got something more immediate on my mind … like whether the previous guy whizzed on the seat or flushed after taking a dump.

  • http://gardenactivist.com Author

@fahad, Either comment or stay silent. In either case, knock it off with the spam. If your comment is stone-cold brilliant, we’ll click over to see what else you have to add to the conversation. But it’s a long way from spam to stone-cold brilliant … you’d best get started.

  • http://gardenactivist.com Author

I’m 58 and I’ve never measured. No need to … by the time a woman gets that far, she’s pretty much committed to the next 5-6 hours.

  • http://city-roots.com Bill

I do think that the keyboard food tray needs to be taller (hands come in other sizes that petite and approach the keyboard from angles other than parallel) and that would require that it be wider for the sake of stability. Putting a ridge around the sandwich limits how the space could be used … leave that area flat and put a ridge around the whole tray, instead. The depression for the cup, if retained, needs to be all the way in the corner and the tray itself would then need to come in right-hand and left-hand models.
It’s a good first stab at a product that should never exist. 1) it’s made out of plastic and it would seem that the planet is already awash in that stuff; 2) it’s unwise to eat while working at your desk. But, if you are going to eat at your desk, do it away from the keyboard.

@John: I know, right? I mean, there’s absolutely no way we can compete with such a cleverly constructed. . . piece of literature?

  • a fucking creeper

  • Richard Johnson

16.1 How are you going to see the bigger holes if you can’t see the black pepper in the clear part of the “battery”?
16.2) Keep measuring. And pulling. Maybe just maybe yours will lengthen to 2″
16.4) Clearly not an electrical outlet. It is a wall sconce.

How did you miss those? You thought the batteries were for your vibrator and got depressed when you realized the condoms don’t come in XS.

  • Mike

The stackable USB could work, just not in parallel… each plug would have to contain a 2 port hub with one port going to the device (which may itself contain another hub) and the other to the socket…

However, remember that there are power limits to devices and there is a limit of 127 devices on each USB bus. It might not be as useful as you think…

Actually, using stem cell research, you could eventually have only 1 biological parent. :)
supposing that having your own child (where you are the only biological parent) doesn’t create incestual side-effects.

That baby on hooks thing makes me uncomfortable – hopefully those hooks don’t fail.

My mom invented a product that would suit this list well – a restroom door clip that keeps the public restroom door shut when the lock is broken – it’s called The Stall Stopper.

  • lyon city blog

how great it is! Very original and interesting! We’d like to try them all

  • Eliott

    Stupid designer!

When you design USB ports, you should at least know that you can’t pull more than a specific amount of current from them. If you already have a power hungry USB device, you’ll overcharge the USB bus if you plug another one on the same socket!
(I hope the designer at LEAST thought that you needed a switching circuit between the two devices plugged on the same USB port or else, how the hell will you transfert information independantly to them?)

I agree about the lazyness aspect of all that AND about the uselessness of most of them!

  • http://stumbleupon.com Marian Baumann

Some of these inventions are so good and seemingly so simple you have to wonder why they haven’t been thought about many years before now. The simple finger guard for cutting onions and others veggies is great. I would like to get a couple in Jerusalem. I will google it. The bible says that there would be an increase in knowledge in the last days, which would include witty inventions. Daniel 12:4

Interesting response to the finger guard. Jumped from knife guide to an affirmation of impending end times prophesy. In uncertain times, some become so certain, increasing divisions within humanity. If we were to join together, couldn’t we change the seemingly unavoidable?

  • http://stumbledupon.com 1234muffin

Wow, and it’s hygenic too because the stroller wouldn’t fit in the stall, and you need to keep the baby off the floor. Simply ingenius! Love it.

  • none

Those stairs could be dangerous. The keyboard cover is silly too.

  • http://www.rackmyserver.com Jai Kumar

This is called freestyle .. stuff.. they are cool…

  • Kayla

Fat and lazy huh? Well why look at them if you don’t like them? They are all very creative and clever. If you have a problem with it, you can leave.

  • Fabian

99% is not even possible, there are 34 things listed, and either is 100% or 97%, considering just one is not for “fat lazy people”. I just found 9 that would even apply to that comment. Try to take this with amusement rather than anger, Virginia.

I love these brutally simple ideas. Makes me wanna think of one myself.

  • babi

im sorry but everyone of these inventions are either terrible/dangerous/obselete
the compartmentalised stairs seems like a brilliant idea till you remeber how many trips down the stairs possibly resulting in a fatal fall! I can see it happening on a saturday night trying to get ready to go out!
the multiheaded usb is only good so far as long as the devices don’t need to be powered by the usb! the novelty wall lights will scorch your wallpaper or burn down your house!
the fingerguard is a pratical invention as people commonly cut their fingers when dicing!
and the duster shoes. the duplex bedside table is neat but not as useful as it looks, the worst by far is the oreo scoop! creative yes but most of these inventions don’t solve things just make more clutter and some are downright reckless!

“G!” . . . .why didn’t I think of some of these. Some, or most seem realistic and useful, and very creative. If nothing else but lucrative novelty appeal, worth millions in the appropriate markets with expansion to spark other ideals. The umbrella invention that converts into a bag is retarded, (where are you going to put you stuff once you use it as umbrella!!)

And the dog toilet water bowl is retarded because it will probably lead to the dog drinking water out of the real toilet!!

The rolling bench and the chopsticks were awesome though…

I’ve seen some of these before, but some of them are new to me. My fav is the keyboard/tray/drink holder/protector . Not sure what the actual technical name for it is but I like it. It’s not practical, and I’d never use it. But it still cool!

Loved finding you on StumbleUpon. The spikes on the wall to throw one’s clothes at appeals to the slob in me and the different sized doors (with the kid walking through) are favourites … along with the wall-plant pots … In fact, everything (except the keyboard protector with the toast and tea on it). Nice one 8-)

A lot of these things *look* cool, but aren’t very practically when you actually want to use them…

  • fmbaia

Is the rubber spiked clothes rack (11th from top) available commercially? I’d like their website if it is!

  • feitingen

This website is really stupid and useless unless you acually keep track of where this actually comes from.
What’s the point of looking at clever stuff if you can’t find the source?
Because I know a lot of this is available at webshops.
Not to mention, you might be violating copyright by doing this without citing your sources.

  • http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/maria-degtyareva.html Maria

  • Alex

Those inventions are really good. I loved light spyder, small toilet for dog and wooden man, who seems to be trying to pull out power cord.

  • http://www.acor2b.com advertisingjogja

    GOOOOD,…..very nice…..

  • sam

Don’t tell feitingen to shut up. He actually has a very valid point. This is extremely useless without sources and is, in fact, a violation of copyright laws.

  • sam

    The rolling bench fails.

How is it ever supposed to dry if you roll it under the seat? you do understand that you need the sunlight to evaporate the water right? What, you think the water just disappears in the shade? Just poof, there it goes? That design sucks. People will just keep rolling the bench until the whole thing is wet and then the rolling feature is just pointless. Not to mention the disgusting germs you’ll get on the handle from all the people turning it. Gross.
