For examples of “awesomely designed resumes,” most of these are pretty fucking terrible.
totally disagree. These are amazingly creative. And I didn’t see one cuss word in any of them (the sign of someone who is not articulate, or educated.
They are all pretty terrible. I doubt most employers have the patience to wade through the bullshit that is resumes that have to be “creative”.
This isn’t some advertisement bullshit. Imagine you have to go through hundreds of applications: would you bother reading these? Especially the ones which has text going diagonally? It may be “creative”, but resumes aren’t meant to be “creative”. This isn’t fourth-grade where the teacher gives a nice, pretty book report an A+.
Also, what’s with the cuss word comment? Are you upset that somebody used naughty language on the internet? Grow the fuck up.
” This isn’t fourth-grade where the teacher gives a nice, pretty book report an A+.”
If you’re going for a position in graphics design? It sure as hell is pretty similar. Just like you wouldn’t give a poorly-typed resume in for a typing position; you shouldn’t give a boring resume in if you’re going for a creative position.
It should be eye catching, but it should also be easily legible. Imagine any of these was a flier on the street, would you stop to read it? Remember, the field matters. These are all excellent examples of creative resumes for graphic designers.
In a recent horribly 10% unemployment-rate world where boring black type on white paper gets it thrown in the trash, you need to be able to stand out. I at least, used off-white parchment paper. Dunno if it helped, but it couldn’t hurt. Besides, if you’re applying to be a graphic designer, it’s best to show them your skills up front, or else you’ll be tossed in a pile with all the other “have 10 yrs experience” people.
This just confirms graphic designers and visual artist have far more room for creativity than the rest of the adult professional world ( I wish i would send a law firm my resume looking like any of these resumes they would laugh my app all the way to file 13) . but never the less pretty awesome
Nice stuff but Ms. Anna Katherine Shadburn should have run the spell check at least one more time. It’s perhaps particularly cruel that she misspelled “Education”.
In addition Ms. Ann Katherine Shadburn went to the University of Mississippi University.
Wow Homer, you’re right! I didn’t even catch that particular typo on Anna’s resume, but I did see three other typos on hers!
P.S. I’ve conducted many interviews, and typos on a resume are grounds for instant rejection. If they can’t be bothered to proofread what is supposed to be their best face forward, their first impression, then I can’t be bothered with them.
super cool…did anyone else notice that mr. robbie bautista’s address happens to be a one, mr. harry potter’s address?
Wow, the hipsterness burns. Could these resumes be any more pretentious?
Resumes are supposed to be short and to the point. If you’re applying for a job which requires “artistic” or “creative” talents, then you attach a fucking portfolio.
I wonder how many of these resume holders were hipster college students who have no basic skills whatsoever?
no, this just means that their life is useless and a waste of time and energy
I’m going to call/text every single one of these people!
You never get anywhere not trying to stand out.
Wow Next time i,ll not use regular resume i,ll do something different and creative . Doesn’t matter what employer will think about me., but i cant let it go …
