Warren Buffett does travel by private jet. Berkshire owns or leases a Global Express (modified Boeing 737) for this. Also, he does have private security, either he or Berkshire hired a retired local cop for this purpose. However, the security is employed sparingly. I am not saying Warren is an amazing man, just saying you’re misinformed.

Warren Buffet rocks, but the ‘same small house’ he lives in is like 3800 square feet.

  4. Scottjhopper Says:

Negative. His house is valued at less then $40K. Its less then half the size of your made up number. He isn’t get rich by buying things he doesn’t need. And nobody needs as big of a house as you mentioned. And to other comments. You people only dislike capitolism because you can’t achieve it. That’s called envy. You’ll never get to the top unless you get off your bottom. Most of you are so busy defining people by percentages hoping for a hand out. As much as i don’t like Buffett. He worked for his wealth. He only abused his wealth, that’s all he did wrong.

Yes, of course, he obviously worked about five million times as hard as the rest of us.

  6. Buffett Fan Says:
    July 14th, 2013 at 1:29 am

Not “5M times as hard”, but “5M times smarter.”

  7. Buffett Fan Says:

He paid $31,500 in 1958 for the house, today valued at around $700,000 (although he also owns a $4 million house in Laguna Beach, California)
As one of the wealthiest men in the world–you won’t know it by even Buffett’s Laguna house. On the other hand, take Donald “low-IQ” Trump, who uses golden hand railings (Trump has filed bankruptcy how many times?)

You are a idiot. Buffett travels only on corporate jets & buys millions of dollars worth of corporate jet travel for his children.

Warren Buffett is a lying hypocrite who is over a billion dollars behind on his taxes, and uses his money to get crooked politicians in office (like Obama, for one). There’s nothing about this man worth admiring.

You fail at simple logic my friend. Do you think you could file the taxes of BRK in a timely manner? They’re dealing with about 200 billion dollars in annual income. This means mountains of paperwork and a team of people working around the clock.

    Please stop wasting air.

haha fuck rich man cant get his taxs done on time coz it takes to long? maybe employ more people to get it done on time, like the law requires it to be? no excuse, especially with that amount of money.

He has pissed you(a nonintellectual) off. That’s worth admiring (among the vast number of other admiring traits Buffett posses.) I suppose your hero is Romney, who wanted to be President of the U.S. yet sent U.S. jobs overseas, sent his money to offshore accounts to avoid paying U.S. taxes, and protested FOR the Vietnam draft while AVOIDING the draft himself. Wow, with heroes like that, who needs enemies? I suppose nonintellectuals like you.

He’s a commie, and it’s easy to be a commie when you’re F-ing rich. of course he uses capitalism to shill his commie ideals. Capitalism makes men wealthy and Communism helps those same rich men keep others from getting rich as well.

  15. Eric Says:
    March 12th, 2012 at 8:05 pm

Well that’s a theory, albeit an astoundingly brainless, dim-witted, moronic one. Can you muster a motive as to why someone with 50 billion dollars of net worth needs to hide his ideals? He already has success and wealth, and he has even shared his advice with the president of the United States. There is no logic behind your blathering.

    Please stop wasting air.

  16. Samarter Thanu Says:
    July 14th, 2013 at 1:18 am

No, that doesn’t seem to be the definition of Communism. But next year when you’re in the 6th grade, you might learn about it. If not, try Google.

  17. Educated Says:

I love how people criticize him and call him commie and lying hypocrite. Sounds like you guys have small peepee issues! The man is a great role model. Go back to Walmart and buy yourself 10 big macs people!

    More facts aout Warren Buffett:
He’s been in court for the past few years with the IRS because he refuses to pay taxes that he owes. (I thought he wanted to pay more taxes?).

Buffett just recently spent millions of dollars to have taxes lowered for the private jet industry (I read this on HuffPo, so you can’t blame a right-wing conspiracy on this).

    Warren Buffett: Another Rich Hypocrite.

  19. Samarter Thanu Says:
    July 14th, 2013 at 1:14 am

None of that makes him a hypocrite.

  20. the_npp Says:

Reason Republians hate him: He lies and wants to support people taking your money before he’ll give up all but $200,000 of the money he has. He’s a 1%’er who pretends he’s a good guy. Hopefully when Barak is re-elected he’ll take away all but $200,000 of Buffet’s money so he can live like the 99%.

I sense much hate & resentment there, but no facts.

  22. GP For Life Says:

I love Warren and have had the opportunity to meet him about 15 years ago, before a lot of people knew who he was. He’s a very down to earth man who is a lot smarter than he comes off. Think about that.

    That said:

He does travel in private planes whenever he travels by air. Frequently, it’s on a Global Express, which is a converted 737.

He does have security personel, though very few. For a long time all he had was a retired cop. Many people with his wealth keep a small private army of ex-SF around them. While his security complement may be increased at times it still goes to show you how honestly he earned his money.

He does socialize with high society, but he socializes with everyone else too!

“Don’t waste your money on unnecessary things; rather spend it on those who are really in need” I can all but promise you he didn’t say the last part of that. The man is notoriously cheap and while he does give to charities he does so sparingly. That said, over 90% of his net worth will be given to charities upon his death.

While it’s true he usually drives himself one of the things you fail to point out is that he buys American, Cadilac is his brand, and he buys used cars. Yes. One of the richest men in the world buys used cars for personal use. Which is funny, because I am pretty sure Cadilac would give him a car if he asked.

Warren is a genuine and sincere man who is nothing short of a genius. The same applies to Munger. They are national treasures and should celebrated as such. But you know what my favorite thing about him is? He’s a stone-cold poon hound. That’s right.

He does still own his first house – AND a $4 million dollar one in California. He lived with a “companion” for years while still married to his wife who was living in San Francisco (since 1977 until her death in 2004). He bought his own jet and flies it regularly.

  24. Brian D Harris Says:

1994 I was incarcerated in the state of Ohio’s prison system for a drug crime that only myself was being hurt, sentence to a 15 year sentence ( did 4 years.) Anyway I wrote Mr.Buffet a happy birthday letter and a few weeks later a prisoner in Ohio recieved a envelope, and a autographed letter with words of wisdom from Warren on my draconian sentence, from the 2nd richest man in the world at that time. And yes I still have letter and envelope with prison stamps on them, it opened up some talk around the prison $$$$$?????? Tao Brian Harris.
