Since before her human baby brother was even born, Panda the cat has been working to keep him safe.

“Once I got pregnant she started following me around the house, tucking her head on my belly, purring. She loved him and kept him safe for 9 months inside, now she does the same on the outside! Unconditional love!” Liel Ainmar Assayag, told Love Meow.

Assayag and her husband adopted Panda two years ago, and the cat and her adoptive mother bonded straight away. They played together, slept together, and cuddled together. But then Liel got pregnant. And for the next nine months, Panda continued following Liel around everywhere she went. But instead of focusing all her attention on Mom, Panda became enthralled with her growing belly. Whenever she got the opportunity, Panda would lay her head on Mom’s belly to ensure she was as close to the baby as possible.

When the belly got bigger, she started putting her paws around the belly so it looked like she [was] hugging it.

When Liel finally gave birth to her newborn son, Panda was a little skeptical at first. But after a month, Panda had grown closer to her baby brother Sean and began to nestle into him. She started lying on top of the baby just like how she had when he was in his mother’s womb!
