This Golden Retriever Puppy Is A Guide Dog For His Blind Brother

When Charlie, an 11-year-old Golden Retriever lost both his due to glaucoma, his caring owners decided to get him a companion — sort of like his own “seeing eye” dog.

They brought home a golden retriever puppy named Maverick on New Year’s Day

Although the two didn’t initially get along, they’ve since become best of friends— with Charlie relying on the puppy for nearly everything, from walking, playing, eating, and even using him as a pillow!

Disabled Dog Doesn’t Go Anywhere Without His Guinea Pig Best Friend

Rex, an elderly disabled Boxer pup has an unlikely best friend, S’mores, a guinea pig. The two friends are inseparable since they first met. Wherever Rex goes, S’mores tags along inside a special basket attached to Rex’s wheelchair.

Rex suffers from degenerative myelopathy (DM) and was on a shelter’s euthanasia list when he was pulled by a rescue group. Eventually, he found a loving home with Holly Walthers.

It took months of medical attention and rehabilitation before Pigeon could move on her own again by scooting around on her front legs while dragging her hind legs behind her.

This Blind Golden Retriever Has His Own Seeing-Eye Dog Companion

In 2016, Charlie lost both of his eyes from glaucoma. His left eye was removed in 2016 and his right was taken out a year later.

His owners, Chelsea and Adam Stipe, decided to get a puppy who turned out to be a savior for Charlie.

As the two dogs became friends, Maverick began to notice that something was different about Charlie.

“When they would play, Maverick would realize that Charlie would lose the toy sometimes, so (Maverick) would pick it up and put it back in front of him to re-engage playtime,” Chelsea said.

This Dad Has Taken His Son With Cerebral Palsy To More Than 1,200 Heavy Metal Concerts

After learning about how much heavy metal music soothes and comforted his son, Richard McDeid decided to take his son with cerebral palsy to a lot of heavy metal concerts. And when I say a lot, I mean more than 1,200 shows.

Richard’s son, Mason, has loved heavy metal music since he was a toddler. When Mason was a baby, his dad said in an interview, all he did was cry — until Richard put on a Metallica music video. Then, the crying stopped.

“Afterwards, it started happening in the car whenever Metallica was on,” Richard said in an interview. “He would calm down and relax. At first it was only Metallica and then grew to other bands.”
