Prison In Indiana Adopt Shelter Cats Help Prisoners in Indiana Prison Rehabilitate

In 2015 the state of Indiana and the Animal Protection League started a wonderful program called F.O.R.W.A.R.D (Feline and Offenders Rehabilitation With Affection Reformation and Dedication) in Pendleton Correctional Facility.

The idea behind this program is to take cats from shelters and place them in prisons with inmates, so they can be taken care of. The program has proved not only to be benefical for the cats, but also the inmates as well.

Australia Is Airdropping Thousands Of Pounds Of Vegetables To Help Starving Animals

Australia is using airplanes and helicopters to feed hungry, vulnerable wildlife as bushfires rage across the country. The government dropped thousands of pounds of sweet potatoes and carrots to feed wildlife that have been stranded by the fires.

The New South Wales government commissioned “Operation Rock Wallaby” which aims to feed colonies of brush-tailed rock wallabies and help the population of marsupials survive.

So far, they have dropped nearly 5,000 pounds of fresh vegetables.

Just about every time I see someone I stop. I kind of got out of the habit in the last couple of years, moved to a big city and all that, my girlfriend wasn’t too stoked on the practice. Then some shit happened to me that changed me and I am back to offering rides habitually. If you would indulge me, it is long story and has almost nothing to do with hitch hiking other than happening on a road.

Boss Pays Off Vietnam Vet’s Mortgage So He Could Retire Early

A 69-year-old Vietnam veteran is retiring early thanks to the generosity of his boss.

Albert Brigas has been working as a mechanic at Renown Auto Restoration in San Antonio, Texas for the last 13 years. He has also been living in the same house for the last 24 years—and he had been putting off retirement until he could finish paying off the mortgage in 2020.

Rudy Quinones, who owns Renown Auto Restoration, said Brigas is a dependable employee who came into work every day, even when he was sick.

“Albert is a humble individual, extremely hardworking, would give the shirt off his back to anyone. His family was very close to our hearts and the fact that he gave us so many loyal years of service… He’d come to work sick, he never came in late. He is just one of those guys that had so much pride in what he did.”

New Loving Owner Saves Obese Golden Retriever From Being Euthanized And Helped Him Lose 100 Pounds

Kai the Golden Retriever weighed a astounding 173 pounds when Pam Heggie started fostering him — more than 100 pounds overweight for an adult golden retriever.

Her veterinarian, told her, “This is the most overweight animal I have ever seen.”

Kai’s previous family took him to the vet to be euthanized because he had a hard time getting up. However, the vet stepped in and contacted the Misfits of Alberta Animal Rescue, which helped put Heggie together with Kai.

She didn’t even know where to start when she started fostering him.

When she first got home with Kai, he was so overweight it took him 20 minutes to climb the stairs and get through the door.

This Priest Brings Stray Dogs To Mass So Families Can Adopt Them

A kind priest has devised a brilliant way to help the stray and abandoned dogs of his city get adopted

Father João Paulo Araujo Gomes, the head of the parish of Santana in the Brazilian city of Gravatá, started bringing the homeless dogs into his church in order to show them off to potential adoptive families.

The priest became concerned at seeing so many stray dogs and decided he absolutely had to do something to help them.

Teacher Carries 10-Year-Old Girl With Spina Bifida On His Back So She Wouldn’t Miss Field Trip

A girl with spina bifida was able to go on a field trip with her classmates thanks to one kind teacher.

According to the child’s mother, Shelly King (who posted about the touching gesture on Facebook), when she learned that her daughter Ryan’s class was planning a field trip to the Falls of the Ohio State Park near the border of Indiana and Kentucky, she knew she would have to come up with an alternative plan for her kid.
