She Played Chelsea On Two and a Half Men. See Jennifer Taylor Now At 50

By Ross Tyson | March 21, 2023

Jennifer Taylor - Two and a Half Men

It takes a lot to be engaged to Charlie Sheen, even if it’s just acting as a character who’s engaged to his fictional character. That wasn’t a problem for Jennifer Taylor though, as the actress that gained her big break from Two and a Half Men says the role was one of the best things to ever happen to her. So what has the actress been doing since it ended in 2015?

Jennifer Taylor was born as Jennifer Bini to middle-class parents in Hoboken, New Jersey around 1972, the same town she would spend the next ten years in before moving to Coral Springs, Florida. Jennifer had a quiet childhood, often describing herself as shy and introverted.

While her childhood was uneventful, she went into modeling almost immediately after high school, working in gigs throughout Florida and winning runner-up for Miss Florida in 1995 and 96. She would transition her modeling gig eventually into commercials, then upon discovering her love for the profession she would go full time with acting.

Florida had few opportunities for actresses at the time, but Jennifer Taylor still managed to land a part in Adam Sandler’s comedy The Waterboy as well as one of the most rewound movies on VHS, Wild Things. If you were alive for VHS you know what I’m talking about. Taylor would only have small parts, amounting to glorified extra at most, but it would give her the foot in the door she needed for the business.

Early years as a working actress were rough, with Jennifer Taylor barely scraping by between roles on barely remembered television movies and Baywatch knockoffs with Mario Lopez. She would struggle and eventually land a role in the pilot for the new Chuck Lorre comedy Two and a Half Men, though it would only be in the background for the time being.

Jennifer kept going, both for herself and her love for her husband Paul Taylor, who she met in 1997 and took his name before even getting into acting, as well as their two children. Jennifer Taylor was pregnant with her second child when they were considering leaving Hollywood in 2008, right before her life would change.

Already having appeared on Two and a Half Men quite a few times throughout the run as various side characters, Jennifer Taylor was shocked to receive an offer to play the role of Chelsea, Charlie’s newly recurring girlfriend who somehow put up with his antics for Charlie Sheen’s last two seasons on the show before being written off along with him. She would return for the first episode back without him, as well as the finale in 2015.

A New Chapter

Jennifer Taylor Zombie night

Jennifer Taylor and her husband would take the role as a sign from God that they were to stay in Hollywood, with roles coming through fairly steadily during her time after being a regular on the series. Granted, most of her work outside of television guest roles was in Lifetime movies and straight-to-DVD horror like the abysmal Zombie Night, but it pays the bills.

Taylor would be one of a few to talk about the crudeness of Two and a Half Men later on in her life, citing her Catholic roots and current Christian faith, but still refrains from saying much out of her respect and admiration for the show that got her the start she needed.

Jennifer Taylor - Burn notice

The 2010s were largely spent raising her family and doing guest spots, still dabbling in Lifetime movies but now getting more consistent television parts over multiple episodes in shows like Shameless and The Young and The Restless. She would take an unfortunate dip into B-Movie territory with God’s Not Dead: A Light In Darkness, which unfortunately didn’t even make a fun drinking game.

What is Jennifer Taylor Doing Now?

Despite a turbulent beginning in the business she’s kept acting, maintaining a steady schedule while being a mother of two. Most recently she’s been appearing in more Lifetime original films, usually, thriller or mystery oriented these days. She’s also making regular appearances starring in the PureFlix original Saving Grace along with Christmas films for the platform.

Through the last few years Jennifer Taylor has tried her hand at writing, moving to work both in front and behind the camera. Currently, she’s written a short film called Unfaithful, which she is also starring in. She says the short is a retelling of the story of Hosea from the Bible. Along with this, she has another starring role upcoming in the independent film Christine’s Wager, playing the main character’s mother.

Jennifer Taylor isn’t letting anything slow her down, with two children growing older and more time coming available for herself, it remains to be seen what she’ll do for her career in the future beyond her planned projects. Through it all, she’s discovered passions outside of acting that gets her through as well, including archery and attending her home church in Los Angeles.

Jennifer is an avid gardener as well, often talking about health and growing her own food. According to Taylor, everything her family eats is grown in their garden at home in Los Angeles. Taylor still lives and works in Hollywood currently, residing just outside of LA with her husband and two children.
