In the segemnt, a town is isolated from the rest of the world, and the residents live in constant fear of a young boy named Anthony. Anthony possesses god-like powers, capable of transforming or destroying anything or anyone with just a thought. He has complete control over the town, and the adults are forced to cater to his every whim and desire, lest they face his terrifying wrath.
The Hogan Family
His next big break would come when he would get the part of Mark Hogan in The Hogan Family in 1986.
“The Hogan Family” aired from 1986 to 1991. Originally titled “Valerie” and later renamed “Valerie’s Family: The Hogans,” the show centers around the Hogan family. Valerie Hogan, portrayed by Valerie Harper in the first two seasons and later by Sandy Duncan, leads the family.
The Hogan family includes parents Valerie and Michael, played by Josh Taylor, along with their three sons: David (Jason Bateman), Mark (Jeremy Licht), and Willie (Danny Ponce).
When asked about the transition from “Valerie” to “The Hogan Family” after Valerie Harper left the show due to a contract dispute, Jeremy explains that as actors, they were not fully aware of what was happening behind the scenes.
They initially filmed the first episode of the third season without Valerie, but she eventually came back to re-shoot it. However, she left the show afterward, and Sandy Duncan joined the cast as the boys’ aunt.
Jeremy recalls that when Valerie left, they were uncertain about the show’s future. Sandy Duncan was a great addition to the cast, and they were grateful for the opportunity to continue the series.
