As much of an issue as the nepo-baby trend is in Hollywood, it’s good to note there is a spectrum of actors in that category that range from cashing in to true love of the medium. Jennifer Jason Leigh falls into the latter category with those like Nic Cage and Maya Hawke, thankfully.
If anyone has a more polar opposite filmography in their debut year than Dominique Swain, please let me know because this one is WILD. With a rapid rise onto the acting scene after an early start to her career, Dominique took Hollywood by storm in the late 90s and is still making films today. Whether that’s a good thing isn’t for me to say.

It’s okay if you don’t recognize her name or picture right off the bat, because you’ve probably heard Papillon Soo quoted throughout pop culture so often you don’t realize it’s her. The model only made a brief foray into acting during her ongoing career, but it counted in ways that paid off for her big time.
Writers for many Hollywood studios are on strike, with the Writers Guild of America picketing outside many major studios for compensation from streaming projects, higher wages (most have part or full-time jobs besides writing), and protection from the artificial intelligence boom that’s currently plaguing the literary and film worlds.
