Chloe Bennet is an American singer and actress. She is best known for her role in the television series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Daisy Johnson/Quake.
Chloe Bennet was born Chloe Wang on April 18, 1992, in Chicago, Illinois. Her mother is Anglo-American, and her father is Chinese. They are an internist and investment banker, respectively.
Bennet is one of eight children, having seven brothers, four of which are biological. In her school years, Bennet attended St. Ignatius College Prep.
Music Career
At fifteen years old, Bennet moved to China to pursue a career in music as Chloe Wang. There she lived with her paternal grandmother and learned Mandarin.
She moved to China in 2007 and stayed until 2010. While living in Shanghai, she had a brief stint as a pop star. Bennet produced two singles in English for international release, “Uh Oh” and “Every Day in Between.”
After her music career, she moved back to Los Angeles, California, to pursue acting.
Acting Career
Her first role was courtesy of her music career, being cast as a host for the TeenNick summer dance series titled The Nightlife.
Bennet claimed it was not until she dropped her birth name of Wang and began using Bennet that she found success in mainstream auditions.
In 2012, Bennet was cast as Hailey in A.B.C.’s television drama Nashville. She appeared in seven episodes between 2012 and 2013.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Bennet received her first significant role in 2013 when she was cast as Skye/Daisy Johnson/Quake in the A.B.C. television series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Her character was a human named Daisy Louise Johnson, who was a hacker and worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. Before this, she adopted the name Skye while working for the Rising Tide.
Eventually, her character is reunited with her father and learns she has alien lineage, giving her the ability to manipulate objects through vibration.
Quake would have a dominant role in seasons depicting S.H.I.E.L.D. ‘s interactions with the Inhumans.
As the main character, Bennet appeared in 134 episodes in seasons released between 2013 and 2020.
She was also nominated for a Choice Summer TV Actress award in 2019. Fans generally liked her S.H.I.E.L.D. character and felt that she was underappreciated by the franchise.
What did she do after Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
Chloe was cast as Yi in the 2019 animated film, Abominable. Yi is the lead role, a violin-playing teenager who discovers a young Yeti and goes on a quest to reunite him with his family. In 2022, she reprised her role in the Abominable and the Invisible City series.
Bennet also has voice roles in Marvel Rising: Initiation, Secret Warriors, Heart of Iron, and Chasing Ghosts, reprising her character Daisy Johnson/Quake. She appeared in two episodes of Marvel Rising: Initiation and was in both the Heart of Iron and Chasing Ghosts television specials.
Bennet played Karen in the 2020 film Valley Girl and was cast as Emma in the movie 5 Years Apart. In 2021 Bennet was cast as the main character Blossom in the Powerpuff reboot. However, the pilot never aired, causing Bennet to abruptly part ways with the production.
Bennet was cast as Robyn, a photographer, in season three of the television series Dave. Dave is a television series based on the life and music career of Lil Dicky, real name Dave Burd. It is a recurring role where she will appear alongside Benny Blanco, Taylor Misiak, and Andrew Santino.

Chloe Bennet is still very active as an actress and has many upcoming projects lined up.
Chloe is set to feature in the movie Married by Mistake. A film in which Bennet plays Riley, an M.B.A. grad who misses an opportunity for her dream job and has a romantic, wild night out with her best friend, Nate.
Also, she is starring in a yet-to-be-released series titled Interior Chinatown features Bennet as Lana Lee, a detective in the procedural cop show set to premiere on Hulu.
Bennet was rumored to be in Disney+’s new series Marvel’s Secret Invasion, which details the crossover between the storylines, as her character Daisy Johnson/Quake. However, she has since denied any involvement.
Name Change
Recently, in defense of Ed Skrein stepping down from Hellboy due to accusations of whitewashing, Bennet spoke up about changing her last name from Bennet to Wang, claiming she did so because “Hollywood is racist.”
Bennet stated that having an Asian surname while being from a mixed heritage caused producers to feel uncomfortable about casting her in Asian roles.
Relationships
In 2017, Bennet and Logan Paul admitted that they were dating, only to break up in October 2018. The two worked on set together while filming the movie Valley Girl.
