The Walking Dead
In 2015, Katelyn Nacon was cast as Enid, an apocalyptic survivor on The Walking Dead.
She would debut in the twelfth episode of the fifth season, “Remember.” She appeared in 50 episodes from 2015 to 2019 but left the show in the ninth season.
Why did she leave The Walking Dead?
Katelyn Nacon’s character Enid was written out of The Walking Dead in season nine to create dramatic tension for the antagonists at that time in the run of the series.
Katelyn Nacon was just one of several characters who met their end in the 15th episode of the season.
Unfortunately, she was not made aware of her character’s departure until a week before the episode began shooting.
Enid’s character was essential for the development of the character of Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs).
Still, Nacon and fans felt her character was underutilized by the show up until she was written out.
Many fans praised her initial addition to the show but felt the writers were unsure what to do with her after a while.
