Amy Jandrisevits creates ‘A Doll Like Me’ for children with disabilities and the impact she has had on children around the world is truly incredible.

Amy Jandrisevits was a social worker in a pediatric oncology unit before she came up with her incredible idea. She used to do play therapy with young patients using dolls. But after a while, she realized that the dolls she used had lustrous hair and appeared to be in perfect health. Sadly, that was nothing like the children she worked with in the cancer unit.

Ken, 9, has grown up dreaming about someday having a shelter to help the stray animals that live near his home. He started feeding three stray dogs that he encountered on the streets of Davao City, Philippines.

As Ken’s photo feeding the dogs made its way onto the internet, people from all over the world started donating money. Ken’s dream of opening an animal shelter started to become a reality.

This 8-Year-Old Boy Was Bullied For 2 Years While Growing His Hair To Donate To Kids With Cancer

When Christian McPhilamy was six years old, he was inspired by a commercial for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and decided he wanted to help young people with cancer. He decided that day that he wanted to grow his hair long and donate it to make wigs for children with cancer.

So for 2 and a half years, Christian grew his hair out. He was made fun of at school for it, often mistaken for a girl, but that never deterred him from doing what he thought was right.

“Even out and about or at a park, he would be playing with a bunch of boys and they’d be like, ‘you look like a girl.’ And he would just explain to them. He held his head high and he never once said that he wanted to cut it off ever,” Christian’s mom said.

Doctor Ask Terminally Ill Kids What Really Matters In Life – Here Are Their Answers

Dr. Alastair McAlpine spends every day caring for children with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses, working for the non-profit organization PaedsPal.

McAlpine recently decided to ask his terminally-ill patients what they enjoyed most in life and then shared their answers on Twitter.

In a tweet, he explained: “For an assignment, I asked some of my terminal pediatric palliative care patients what they had enjoyed in life, and what gave it meaning. Kids can be so wise, y’know.”

All of these children are between the ages of four and nine years old. Even though they are young, they still managed to hit the nail on the head when it comes to what makes life worth living.
